Design Question
What if the heart of a bar is not the bar?
Site & Context
Vinyl Room is a small listening bar for people looking to step away from the digital and toward analogue luxury, who put listening before talking and value record culture.
Unlike social, conversation-led venues, this room is built around listening. Its heart is a carefully chosen speaker system and record collection. Three different listening experiences share the space: the main speaker area, a private single-person listening nook and a shared corner for group listening. Wall decoration was reduced from scattered small frames to one tall abstract piece between the speakers.
Materials & Palette
Large vintage-style speakers in warm timber cabinets, a low dark timber media console with a turntable and a curated record collection, deep earth-brown acoustic felt panels on the walls, and low leather and velvet seating in earth and rust tones facing the speakers. The bar stays small and modest. Light is the lowest of any project in the series, with a single warm orange accent and everything else in soft shadow.
